Tear Catchers, December 2009.
This is a project I worked on with Benjamin Peterson while exploring the meaning of a transitional object as defined by Donald Winnicott. The glasses are made to catch tears and then to be placed inside a small box. The glasses have embedded wire that heats up once placed in the box. Eventually all the tears are evaporated from the glasses leaving trace of their existence as condensation on the lid of the box.
Tear Catchers (Process), October 2009.
This was a project that I worked on with Ben Peterson. Red gel capsules in ceramic eye glasses were melted using toaster wire and water. A yellow sponge heart was released once the capsules completely dissolved.
