Patrick Lichty: Artist, Writer, Curator, Educator, Activist | Patricklichty.com.

Patrick Lichty  is a technologically-based media artist, writer, independent curator, co-founder of the performance art group Second Front, animator for the activist group, The Yes Men, and Executive Editor of Intelligent Agent Magazine. He began showing technological media art in 1989, and deals with works and writing that explore the social relations between us and media. Venues in which Lichty has been involved with solo and collaborative works include the Whitney & Turin Biennials, Maribor Triennial, Performa Performance Biennial, Ars Electronica, and the International Symposium on the Electronic Arts (ISEA).

He is also an Assistant Professor of Interactive Arts & Media at Columbia College Chicago.

Gregory Sholette Visit to LSU

Gregory Sholette is a New York-based artist, writer, a founding member of Political Art Documentation/Distribution (PAD/D: 1980-1988), and REPOhistory (1989-2000), and author of Dark Matter: Art and Politics in an Age of Enterprise Culture, Pluto Press, 2011. His most recent exhibitions include 15 Islands for Robert Moses at the Queens Museum of Art Panorama, and the Imaginary Archive: Galway, Ireland. He is the co-curator with Olvier Ressler of the exhibition It’s the Political Economy, Stupid, at the Austrian Cultural Forum New York. An Assistant Professor of Sculpture at Queens College: City University of New York (CUNY), he is a member of Gulf Labor Coalition; The Institute for Wishful Thinking; and an academic adviser for the new, Home Workspace Program in Beirut, Lebanon.
